The Orient Xpress Band was formed in 2003 by keyboardist and singer Anar Yusufov, and from it's early days became a sparkling part of the local Jazz scene. Frequently appearing in different venues, concerts, clubs and music festivals the band gained their fame of being always on the move, changing, experimenting and mixing different type of music into a hot cocktail of their own style.
Anar Yusufov was born in 1987 in musical family, and since he was 8 he was ejected onto a big stage with stunning success of a vocal jazz band "Bery Bakh" led by Rauf Babayev, ex soloist of legendary "Gaya" jazz quartet.At the same time he starts his musical education in music school # 21 named after Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich. Later he entering to the Baku Musical Academy, and becomes a first student on a jazz faculty. By that time he frequently appears on jam sessions and jazz events, including Caspian Jazz and Blues Festival 2002. In 2003 he joined the Baku Big Band project, and later formed the Orient Xpress, which perform on the next jazz festivals in Baku.
The compositions that will be played this year is an original mix of free jazz, fusion electronic and world music.
